Do you remember watching Mister Rogers Neighborhood?
I remember watching it as a kid. I haven’t even thought of the show until recently. I saw a trailer for the movie. I thought it was interesting until I read “The Simple Faith of Mister Rogers: Spiritual Insights from the World’s Most Beloved Neighbor,” by Amy Hollingsworth. Now I want to see the movie and learn more about Mister Rogers.
In her book, Hollingsworth shares stories from her interactions and friendship with Fred Rogers, a.k.a., Mister Rogers. I never knew so much about him. After reading the book I feel like I know Fred/Mister Rogers better as a person. Here are a few things I learned from Mister Rogers through Hollingsworth book,
- Mister Rogers was real and intentional,
- He practiced silence and moving slow,
- He truly loved people.
There is so much more to learn from reading “The Simple Faith of Mister Rogers: Spiritual Insights from the World’s Most Beloved Neighbor.” I just hope the movie does is just as good.
Think about it!
